The product works very well. The weight is just right - not too heavy for you if you can't easily carry it, and not so light that it's inefficient. It prevents the meat from curling, puckering, etc. This cooks the meat evenly on all sides as its weight forces the meat or other food to come into contact with the heat wherever the weight is. It only covers items 4 to 5 inches wide. I would suggest that if the product is wider then move the product at intervals to still make it efficient. Since I live alone, I don't need it for big things. It would be great if a thermometer was included! It has a disadvantage that can prevent its use. Each end of the handle has an exposure of hot iron, approximately 1/4 inch. When using and wearing the product, your hand rests on exposed hot metal. This can be avoided but is inconvenient. This had to be eliminated for design reasons. I don't use the product enough to regret buying it and I'm not returning it. But that's a problem.
