Review on ๐Ÿ”ต BOSCH L-BOXX-2 6x14x17.5 Stackable Tool Storage Case, Blue - Enhanced for SEO by Benjamin Chang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

WAS ON THE FENCE. Great for Bosch 12v, Milwaukee 12v, stuff, even my laptop!

After reading a few reviews I think. Maybe it cracks easily, maybe the latches (cheaply) break, the top handle in the 'wrong' place etc. But I have Bosch 12v drills and was happy with the Bosch quality so I tried this empty case. for a drawer part of a toolbox system that I might expand on if that works. It is part of a rather sophisticated LBoxx system of different sizes with different functions / deep drawer / pull-out closed or open drawers / etc. and also stackable. Cute! This LBoxx-2 size is a notch above the smallest. I use it for all my Bosch 12V drills and screwdrivers and have had no trouble closing the lid or pressing the hinges. I usually put in a special tray for the specific workout I need during the day. But when I want an open box with no dividers, I take out the special compartments and load in my drill sets, extension cords, tape, electronic tools, laptop, etc. The case feels solid and doesn't look like it will tear easily either. It's a form of plastic but looks modified to be a bit stiffer and more impact resistant. A good punch or some kind of insult can prove otherwise. Time will tell and I will post and update. The red front latches are frustratingly weak and may break first. The side latch on the bottom or top of another LBOXX feels solid and secure. Thus, stacking bars are rigid. The point is that they are waterproof. In this respect they are better than my canvas and nylon tool bags. If you just need space, then buy a bag. I did this. But if you want something cooler and part of a cool/functional stackable system, this is the best I could find, but not particularly cheap. I've found I can save money by buying other Bosch tools as a kit that also includes a carrying case. If I need special inserts to protect Bosch 12V tools, I can buy the inserts separately. But I found it cheaper to buy the bits that come with one of the Bosch drill sets. like Milwaukee 12v drill/drivers, bit sets etc and it's great for that. Without inserts I can fit up to 4 x 12v drill bits in it versus only 2 when using inserts or 2-3 drill bits plus charger. I can really fill it with tools! If I don't want something rattling inside, I put a small thin towel in there to cushion/wrap/settle. Or you can buy closed-cell foam made specifically for this purpose, but it's expensive. The handy size and features of this case give me a lot of flexibility and various uses. All kinds of hand tools, Bosch 12V radio, batteries/chargers, power tools of different brands, saws, computers etc. are suitable for Easy Peasy. Therefore it gets 5 stars from me. Not perfect and room for improvement but not enough to disappoint. I really like this case and the options of the whole Bosch LBoxx system!

Pros
  • Convenient locking clips - easy to lock and unlock for quick access to tools
Cons
  • Not the best option
