Review on JPNK Makeup Brush Set - 16 Brushes + 3PCS Silicone Facial Mask Brush & Face Mask Brush Soft Silicone Mud Applicator (Purple) by Jeremy Marshall

I chose this kit because I thought some of the brushes would be larger - and for the three silicone mask brushes.First - the mask brushes stank to high heaven. It was very chemically - like strong nail-polish mixed with turpentine. REALLY bad. I tried airing them out - nope. Then I soaked them in a cup of vinegar for a day. Nope - I could still smell the noxious chemical stink. I ended up soaking them in vinegar for a full week - plus I doused them a few times with essential oils in between to boot. Now they smell like lemon and rosemary. Although, to be honest, I have yet to use them. Memories of the original smell is still throwing me as silicone should never smell like that. So not truly sure what they are really made of - so makes me hesitant to even use.As for the brushes - my $35 foundation brush, which I have used for over 10 years, seems to finally be falling apart a bit. I though that I could get this kit and maybe some of the brushes would do. The problem is they are much smaller than I thought they would be. The larger are not that large at all and are all too soft as well. None really seem to be good for applying my foundation or bronzer or even my blush. I like bigger and sturdier brushes for that. These are more to be used for eyeshadows and highlighters. Plus they had a slight smell to them too. Not too terrible - and they aired out on their own - thank goodness. Still - I washed them.
