Online purchase is a coincidence. I read many reviews promoting the quality of granite stone pans and ended up purchasing a set of three granite stone pans. The pans were very well made and very sturdy. Although this grill pan was from a different company, it looked similar enough for me to purchase. Wash well first and heat when first use, then cool. Well, it was steak night and I got out my new skillet. I read somewhere to turn the heat down to medium and leave the pot on the stove for five or six minutes. I did this by rubbing the EVOO steak and adding kosher salt and pepper. Very easy! After the pan sizzled as I splashed water on it, I tossed in the steak. I could hear the hot hiss of the raised grates. Three minutes later I rotated the steak 90 degrees. Three minutes later I turned the steak over and was delighted to find steakhouse style grill marks on the steak! Since the steak was almost an inch thick, I held it for an additional 4 minutes. Let sit for just 9 minutes and five while I pan fry the canned mushrooms. The steak turned out beautifully! It was fried on the outside and very tender and medium rare on the inside. The pan was very easy to clean. I might buy a second one if we have company to cook more steaks at once. I can highly recommend this pan, it is of high quality, easy to clean and does what it is supposed to do as promised. Buy and enjoy!
