Bought this to use in my workshop, which I don't keep continuously at comfort level except when working. So I needed something that can heat up a larger space fairly quick, then maintain it. On the positive side, it comes almost fully assembled, has a small footprint, and heats up quickly on high setting.Controls are simple: low or high heat, oscillate on or off, and a separate thermostat. It is very quiet, and oscillation takes about 28 seconds to complete a cycle, so just right. However, the fan is more on the very gentle heat side, and not much of an air mover for a larger room.But I have some issues with it. My biggest is the wide separation between low heat at 250W and high heat at 1500W. That probably works OK in an average room where you typically want to keep it warm at all times, but maybe need a quick heat up to get it there. I'd rather have had a low of maybe 500-700W, or better, three settings: 250W, 750W, and 1500W, which would be much more versatile.Another issue is with this attachment rod that you are supposed to add somewhere to prevent the heater from being to close to a wall or drapes. But the user manual gives no clues where, other than a small ambiguous picture. I deduced that, despite talking about not placing to close to a wall, the guard can't go on the back. At that point, there was only one likely spot to put it on front. And I did get one side to slot in, But the opposite side absolutely refuses to clip into place.But honestly, do I really need this metal bar sticking out the front so I don't face it too close to something? I chose to just leave it off. Possibly something some lawyers recommended for liability, I suspect. It should have plenty of free space in front to operate by just using common sense. I'd be more worried the bar could get really hot on high heat setting. And the manual does mention not to use it to hang things to dry, which should also be common sense.The big question is always, is it worth the price? I think it is definitely at the the high end of cost compared to other space heaters that do the same, and maybe better with more useful low heat setting, or maybe more than two extreme ones. And while it is a heater and you don't want a hard blowing fan, I prefer a bit more air output. If I were shopping again, I think I'd try to find those features, and for less money. So three stars on this one.
