Opening the belt is child's play, pull the tab and you're released. However, if you have to wash your pants every day, you may need to reconsider using this belt. Removal will take additional time. If you don't mind adding extra time every time you wash, this is the perfect belt. The strap does not stretch and should be inelastic. I gave 1 star for the stretch, but that's how it's supposed to be. Amazon rating changes or removes stretch rating. The belt keeps its shape but it's not a stiff belt (not like a $100 tactical belt) but I like it.
