Review on πŸ“ Fowler 52 224 220 Micrometer: Accurate and Precise Measuring Graduation Tool by Rushabh Gonsales

Match what they are

I've made my choice to buy a complete set of micrometers numbered from 0 to 6 inches, but didn't want to buy unnamed imports and didn't want to spend $1000 on Starretts or Mitutoyos. I figured I could at least get parts or repairs from Fowler. Since they don't offer a full 0-6 inch set, I went with the 0-3 inch set and bought the 4, 5 and 6 inches separately. They all seem to work as advertised and are good. Value for what they charge but although listed they have a hammered enamel gray frame with burnt enamel, sizes 3" through 4" have a blue hammered tone. I tried returning them to get a gray Hammerton frame to match my others but the replacement I got is the same. It's annoying to have an odd ball in my set, but I don't think it matters much since they work well. Just thought this information might be useful to someone else.
