I bought this laptop for a family friend for Christmas. So far I have had to send a few messages to Amazon customer service. The PC is up to date, so I understand some quality control issues, but not that much. I work in IT so I was able to find out a lot but I think it will be difficult for some consumers. The battery life on the device I received was terrible. It didn't work at all. I bought a new one due to lack of time and spoke to customer service who agreed to refund me. Today when I turned it on to insert the battery, Windows told me it needed to be activated. It says there is no digital license. I have worked in PC repair and it is expected that the unit will need to be digitally activated before it is repackaged for customer use. Often not even a certificate of authenticity is used on the bottom of the computer as everything is digital. However, this device told me that the key was not valid and I would have to buy a key from the store. While speaking to support, I looked under the bottom of the computer and found a brand new Windows 10 Pro key that hadn't been used since the repair. It had a coin imprint on the first few digits, so I knew it hadn't been used. I entered that key and activated the window, so now I finally have a device to give my uncle for his wife in time for Christmas. I hope this key recovery system with Microsoft has not failed this week as there will be many disappointed customers this Christmas Day week. anyhow, if you have any problem contact amazon customer service and hope they will help you out of the desperate situation you may be in. If you need to activate immediately, use the button on the bottom of the device.
