My little girl slept great without a night light until recently she started having bad dreams. When I bought her a night light, many of them were battery operated, had timers that turned off, or were just plain lame. This lamp is much cooler, plugs into the wall and using a 25w LED bulb it puts out just the right amount of light and costs next to nothing to keep it on all night. *** I would not use this or any other lamp. like a night light with a bulb that gives off heat or can be dangerous. If you use it for a long time, please buy a soft white LED light bulb. They're a little more expensive, but last forever, are much safer, and use very little power.***
