I recently needed some dowels to attach to fake mustaches and hats for a photo booth at an event. The local stores near me were a bit more expensive when it came to in-store shopping, so I bought this pack. The quality of the dowels is really good! Before receiving the goods, I was afraid that it might be too thin and might tear in the hands of guests at an event or when moving. However, I was completely wrong. The dowel rods are slightly smaller than the thickness of a regular pen or pencil. They are also very strong. Just to test how strong these bars are I tried breaking one and it took a lot of force before it broke. Although unfinished, the dowel shanks are very smooth and I have not felt or seen any part of the wood split or become uneven. This is the perfect addition to crafts, especially if you're making small signs or, like me, using them to support fake photo booth props. Once they run out I'll definitely pick up another set for the next event!
