Manufactured by Revain from seller We Love TEC. The UAP-AC-M date on the box is August 2017, so this particular device has been in the box for at least 8 months. It was necessary to transmit radio signals to a detached garage about 10 meters away. You currently have all Ubiquiti Unifi settings (Unifi hotspots, routers, switches and cloud keys). The decided mesh was the easiest/best way to extend the signal for what was needed and the UAP-AC-M ticks the bill (compact and reasonably strong wireless signal with antennas included). Although this access point can be pole mounted outside, I wall mounted it inside because I didn't want to worry about grounding the UAP-AC-M. During the initial setup, the UAP-AC-M was connected directly to the Unifi POE. Switch and then opened the Unifi cloud key controller and then received the UAP-AC-M. The controller software also indicated that a firmware update was available, which is what happened next. Then I turned on the WiFi for the antenna. After activating the WiFi, disconnect the UAP-AC-M (Access Point) from the POE switch, then go to the garage and install the antenna and the included POE injector in the garage. (Please note that for wall mounting the injector, there were no screws in the package, only for wall mounting the antenna). Connect a Cat6 cable between the POE injector and the UAP-AC-M, and then connect the injector's power cord to the power outlet. The UAP-AC-M turned on and began blinking white and eventually transitioned to a solid blue light, indicating a successful wireless uplink to the wired AP. I left the wireless uplink on "Auto" in the controller software so that it selects the strongest available signal from the wired access point for the wireless uplink. In this case, the wired access point it connected to was a UAP-AC-HD model. Checking the controller for wireless uplink performance between the UAP-AC-M and the automatically selected wired access point showed 71% (-61.0 dBm). Since then it's fluctuated between 81% and 71%, so now it's really good. Wi-Fi in a detached garage.
