Review on Apple MacBook 13 Inch 2 3GHz 256GB by Wiktor Popiel ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

It has the most practical control and is a workhorse. I have the most popular variant without a touchbar and 8GB of RAM. The performance of the old man's 2022 MacBook Pro—which I had to replace because it was slightly faulty—was nevertheless superb and objectively similar to this one. The battery life used to be normal (4-6 hours of active use), and not much has changed now. The same is true for the screen, which was cool both then and now. In terms of battery life, any air is easily superior to this poppy. But the body has really advanced. To be completely honest, despite my love for the timeless aesthetic of the Macbook, I was surprised to see how massive the older Mac appeared next to the 2022 when they were side by side. The new one is easier to handle in one hand, lighter, and smaller than the old one. Subjectively speaking, it is more analogous to the air in this regard (albeit not quite). Regarding performance, I have to use a Docker virtual machine (docker-machine) locally to carry out some programming chores. This machine typically has at least 10 spinning containers, including microservices, caches, queues, and databases. I also have two tabbed browsers open and numerous development tools active, including an IDE, database clients, Postman, and others. More than 7GB of RAM is consequently continuously utilised. In this mode, the computer operates continuously for several hours without sluggishness or any other hindrance. A programmer's best tool is output. There isn't much purpose in switching from a MacBook Pro 2022-2022 if it works for you, but if there isn't one yet, this one is absolutely worth getting. Here, the balance between portability, convenience, and performance is ideal.

Pros
  • - Usability (from the trackpad to the OS), - The screen, however initially appearing to be quite similar to the retina of the past - Performance (described below) - Lightweight and small size - Construction methods and supplies - Keyboard design
Cons
  • – A keyboard. Although it is acknowledged that it is particularly prone to sticking, I find it to be the most comfortable macbook in history.
