I have a partially injured wrist with arthritis in my wrist and hand. When I used my regular mouse, I felt a lot of pain. My wife suggested a vertical mouse so I decided to give it a try and after some research I settled on this mouse. I was very skeptical about the mouse's usefulness as I only ever saw it as a gimmick in passing. It was very uncomfortable to hold at first, but I immediately realized that I wasn't feeling the usual pressure and pain. I usually had when using a mouse. The mouse was a bit difficult to control when it came to really subtle movements, but I kept going. After a week I started to master it without thinking about it when using it. I've started playing some of my games ranging from classic point and click adventure games to first person shooters and MMOs. I have found that I really enjoy using the mouse as I have been able to play for over an hour without pain! After using this vertical mouse for a month I don't think I will ever go back, it's so comfortable to use and more importantly it really takes the pain and tension out of my wrist. Use the included mouse but it's worth it. I use this mouse at 1000 dpi which is fine with me, the included "DeLux" software is really nice and allows you to remap all the buttons on the mouse. The mouse has a blue backlight that cannot change color. I use an elastic mouse cable which I highly recommend as it really allows you to use the mouse as if it were wireless. My only downside is that I wish the mouse cable was braided and not just plain plastic.
