I bought this because it was the exact size of the space I've been drying my dishes in. For years I've been using two smaller Kitchen Aid brand name drying racks. When I received this one I was disappointed by how thin it was but decided to use it anyway. SUPRISE! Yes, it's thinner - but it actually works better than the branded ones. The water evaporates away within the day rather than just sitting there wet like my old ones. Color me pleasantly surprised! I can't comment on durability or washability because I haven't had it long enough.
