I ordered this to protect my electrical cords from two feral kittens who are all chewing. It was easy to use, very easy to cut to length. 1/2 inch was more than enough for standard electrical cords and even some thicker cords like computers and monitors. The 50ft length covered some of my items (lamps, fans, etc. I will be ordering more to finish the job. 1/4" would probably be fine for phone cords and small items. Good price and peace of mind.
