Review on Bundle of 16 Greenwich Bay Trading Company Soap Sampler Bars - 1.9oz each by Julie Geier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality, smooth taste, nice packaging - overall a good deal [note: some bars contain wheat]

[Edit: Please note some bars contain wheat] My pack of 16 decoratively wrapped soaps were sold by Revain and arrived in a clear plastic bag in the box with some of the items I ordered (sounds from other reviews it like different sellers pack them differently). At 1.9 ounces (1.9 x 1.9 x 0.75 inches), this soap is smaller than a typical full-size bar (the company seems to sell full-size versions as well), though they all weigh just over twice as much are as large as the typical guest soap. I personally like this medium soap size for my hands, but I could see that someone with big hands might find it too small. Separate paper sleeves for each soap are nice (better than the photo - definitely gift quality). I have opened 3 soaps so far: Jojoba Orchid, Violet and Almond. All soaps are light in color and freshly scented, with slightly different colours/tones, scents and touches. Almond (beige "exfoliating" soap) smells very similar to its namesake and has very small exfoliating particles (the soap _mostly_ feels smooth and the exfoliation is not very noticeable to me when I use it) soap in the shower). both in appearance and texture) It is a fresh, very vaguely floral scent rather than a clear violet scent. I like more traditional violet scents (and violet was one of the reasons I ordered this one) so I'm a bit disappointed with this one, but the nice creamy feel makes up for it. Orchid Jojoba (light mint green with fine speckles) has a slightly slippery feel and a slightly different floral scent, but with a fresh, soapy violet undertone. The quality of the soap for all three is very high in my opinion - as good as any soap you can buy on the world market but cheaper per ounce. I also love that this soap is plant based (since I try to avoid soaps with animal products) and made in the USA. I could smell most of the still wrapped soaps through the case and the scents are definitely distinguishable when exposed to air (when the bag is opened there is a strong perfume smell from all the soaps welded together in the bag but it dissipates when separate and in the air), but many of them have a similar fresh/soapy undertone. I personally like all the flavors so far and have not experienced any sensitivity (which I mention as some reviewers said they did; I have it sometimes with other products but different people are sensitive to different things). I'll definitely be ordering this again at some point. I plan to give some away as stocking fillers and am thinking of ordering some full size bars as gifts. Overall I think this pack is a pretty good deal and a great way to try out this company's different soap products before ordering a full size soap now that many of us are shopping online more. The company has won a customer.
