I get lost - a lot. It's funny because I've had a private pilot's license since we learned to fly by dead reckoning and didn't have GPS. Yes, I got lost in mid-air once or twice. So I bought a Garmin nufi 50 at what I thought was a very good price after taking the wrong exit onto a toll road driving out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. When I saw that I was about to enter Missouri, I realized I must be on the wrong road. Highway Patrol confirmed I drove 125 miles the WRONG DIRECTION. I will say it was a great trip through Missouri and Arkansas to get back on track. But at those gas prices, Garmin would have paid for itself. I've only used it once on a small trip I already knew and although it took me on a route I wouldn't otherwise have taken, it didn't last longer and I saw new landscapes. It was fun. I felt in control. I have to say that I really enjoy knowing where I am and how to get where I want to go. A sensation not to be taken lightly. I've decided to stop paying for map updates. You will receive an update within 90 days of your Garmin purchase and I assume all major highways and roads will not change. You know how slowly they build new roads. I am very happy with my Garmin. It cost less than $80 and I also bought a quick charger for it. It comes with a cigarette lighter charger. Buy it. you will like it
