Made a Christmas present for my son. One radio came with a very quiet sound at full volume. They wanted to write to the seller, but such walkie-talkies were no longer available in the store. Reception/transmission are excellent for this price category. We sent our son shopping to the store for about 2.5 km. We talked with him from the apartment (and he is in the store) without any problems. If in the field and on a straight line, then I think it will be enough for 5 km. A charge with constant use at room temperature is enough for about 1.5 days. Included in standby mode - for 2.5-3 days. Generally satisfied. I advise. Just check the volume when buying.
