I used these on the new deck because I didn't want the heads of the screws or nails to pop out and catch on my bare feet. No regret. The adjusters take a while to get used to, but once you do they work like clockwork and seem to be holding the boards well. I'm not sure how easy it will be to pull them out when I need to change boards, but so far I'm pretty happy. If you look at the deck you don't even see that they are there! And since it's stainless steel, there's less chance of galvanic issues with PT wood.
