Review on 6 5 Car Audio Speaker Midrange by Christopher Shah

I bought two of these to replace my old speaker boxes. I chose this model mainly because it fits my cabinets perfectly, but also because I had previously used their smaller 5-1/4" model and was happy with them. They sound great and are well made. They are designed for professional amplified applications so they can handle massive amounts of power without distortion or burn-in.Another reason they worked for me is the sealed back design.My speakers don't have a chamber to seal the midrange from the woofer isolate so I had to seal the case on the back like the ones I replaced.One small design flaw is the use of foam surrounds.Foam is a very common material for speaker surrounds but foam surrounds typically only last 15-20 years and dry and then crumble.I would prefer rubber edges which last much longer.Ins Overall I'm happy with this purchase and recommend them to anyone who needs 6-1/2-du er midrange frequencies.
