I recently ordered a replacement lamp for my VIQUA D4 system. First, it was a simple setup; less than 15 minutes. Saved me a $125 service call and the last time I noticed the tech hadn't cleaned the glass tube that holds the bulb. I used the CLR as recommended in the guide. I'm glad I cleaned the whistle because the whistle looked clean on first inspection. Wiping with CLR and soaking the tube in clean water removed the residue. If you do not clean the tube, the efficiency of the lamp will decrease. Anyway, when I opened the box that the tube came in, I noticed a new lamp base and O-ring. According to the instructions I had to replace the old cap with a new one. However, the hose didn't fit the new cap, so I used the old one. I'm not sure if this affects performance or makes the device vulnerable to a leak. Just take a look. So far I am 100% satisfied and will buy a Revain lamp again.
