Review on Aidata LD007P Laptop Cooling Board by Rob Kerr

I received the cooling pad today and I am basically satisfied. However, to make it perfect, I have a few suggestions for the manufacturer. One thing that worries me a little is the mouse pad. This is not a retractable mouse pad. You need to open the footboard, remove the support pad and attach it to the right side of the board. This platform sticks out constantly and does not slide into the board. This is a bit inconvenient for me as my laptop stays on my board all the time and I'm concerned I might damage the mouse pad if I'm not very careful if I don't take it off and put it back on the board. Second, I would like a bigger fan. On my laptop, the vents are on the bottom left and the fan is centered right in the middle of the laptop. While it cools the laptop, it doesn't go directly to where the cooling should be. Third, the panel opens but is not blocked. I want the handles to be locked so the panel doesn't accidentally open. If the handles are provided with a lock, it can also serve as a mini storage as a Buffalo mini hard drive, small notebook, pens, etc. fit perfectly. Actually, there is a cable with a USB connector for the fan Pros: The edge of the board holds my 17" laptop well (I have a thin Gateway). The size of the board is perfect for my Gateway 2. My computer protrudes less than 1 inch. I feel very comfortable on my lap and the mouse pad is very durable. I work in difficult conditions so we'll see how it holds up over time. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and can only recommend this board. Update: I use the laptop board diligently and for hours every day. I have a major flaw in the front edge that holds my laptop. I have a fairly thin laptop, but not as thin as a Mac. However, when the laptop is in an elevated position, the laptop tends to slide off the platter. After some time of use, it will start slipping again. It's a shame, because in general I really like this board, but falling the computer gets on my nerves. :-) Maybe looking for another board.
