Review on Bundle of 16 Greenwich Bay Trading Company Soap Sampler Bars - 1.9oz each by Katrina Harrison

The reviewers who said this soap had a strong scent were right, these little bars really work and smell great. You open the delivery box, the smell comes out and fills the room pretty quickly. If there was something else in the box, those things will also smell like perfume, so you can take that into account if you want to order something else at the same time as this soap. As soon as you open the plastic bag and separate the pieces, the scent of the perfume will subside slightly and the individual aroma of each soap will emerge. The scent of these soaps will change as you shower depending on how they smell in their packaging (which is common with many soaps and shampoos), some getting stronger, some softening and the scents changing. This is a sampler kit so the bars are small (2" x 2" x 1"). Each bar lasted 5-7 showers, one full body wash for each shower. These soaps also smell great in drawers and linen closets. I checked the Greenwich Bays website and they have larger versions of each of these soaps There are 16 in this set I don't like spicy or perfumed smells so I sniffed each bar individually and the ones I didn't like right away Lavender Chamomile and Soap for Men were too spicy and Ocean Pure, Passionflower Olive Oil and Jojoba Orchid were too perfumed so I won't rate them.The ones I checked below are the ones I kept and used. Pineapple Cocoa Butter - This has a sweet, pineapple-like, fruity flavor, but the flavor wasn't blended thoroughly so the pineapple flavor would come and go and disappear as it went. Doesn't smell like pineapple, it had an earthy smell, like a potato. It wasn't a bad smell, just not the pineapple smell it was supposed to be. Lemon verbena - smelled nice in the package, lemon with a bit of spice. When I washed it off the spice, which I believe to be verbena, spilled over and masked the lemon scent, so I didn't mind, too spicy for me. Fresh milk is a kind of perfume in a shell that is softened in the shower. If you've ever been to Hawaii and smelled Plumeria Lei, this is the scent for me. Since this fragrance smelled softer when washed, I liked it better than I expected. Almond Cocoa Butter (Scrub) – Slightly perfumed in the packaging, most of the perfume scent is gone in the shower leaving behind the scent of almond extract (or marzipan) and oatmeal soap. This is a scrub. I don't know what they put in there, but the surface of the bar is like coarse sandpaper, and it worked pretty well on the dead skin. This one was pretty good. African Violets and Cocoa Butter — >> updated 11/27/18 << smelled a little stronger in the packaging and softened a little when showering. It has a fruity aroma with some floral flavor and is a bit spicy. This one was fairly mild in the shower, but the sharpness didn't bother me. Seafresh Mineral – >> 12/27/18 << it has a mild (too mild) cucumber flavor mixed with a faint flavor. Odor. Many years ago someone gave me Crabtree & Evelyn cucumber soap which smelled great, unfortunately C&E no longer makes it I don't think so. This GBay soap isn't as good as the C&E soap, but it's still pretty good and comes closest to C&E cucumber soap. GBay needs to add some cucumber flavor to this soap, it will improve the already good soap. Rosewater and Jasmine - >> 12/27/18 << Moderately spicy and fragrant in the wrapper, this one was mostly spicy in the shower with hints of citrus. The spiciness faded after a few showers and there was a little more citrus and a hint of rose. I didn't like it that much because it was too spicy for me. Organic Oatmeal (Scrub) - >>updated 11/27/18<< kind of a scent in a wrapper, softer in the shower. It smells like oatmeal soap with a floral scent, but I don't know which flower it is. I don't normally like floral scents but this one was mild so I didn't mind, it was quite pleasant. It has a rough sandpaper surface like almond cocoa butter, so it's pretty good at scraping off dead skin. Black currant and olive oil — >> updated 11/27/18 << moderately strong smell of berries and perfume in the packaging, almost completely disappears in the shower. All that smells in the shower is the usual oatmeal soap with a slight scent of berries. Actually pretty cute. I would rather have too little fragrance than too much perfume or spice. Island Ginger Mango Butter - >> 27/12/18 << it had erm... I think... the scent of fruit and perfume in the wrapper. The shower was very soft, so soft I'm not sure what the smell was. Maybe it was floral scented fruit or some other perfume smell. It was beautiful, too soft to be offensive. Juicy peach – >> 12/27/18 << Fruit (not necessarily peaches) and a light aroma in the wrapper. In the shower, this smell is more reminiscent of a delicate rose with a hint of citrus fruits. Dayal made a peach soap many years ago that had what I would call a more real peach scent. Like Island Ginger Mango, Juicy Peach was sweet and too bland to be offensive. >> updated 12/27/18 << Greenwich Bay makes soaps and other products for hotels, spas and similar places, and this is what the soap smells like. I like it. Each soap is a combination of fragrances, which for most of them were mild and pleasant, but ultimately this made each soap an overall fragrance. It's like a politician who's afraid of offending someone and tries to reach everyone by just saying what people want to hear and ending up with a general message. Stick to the fragrance and let it smell good, do not mix fruits and spices, fruits and perfumes, or spices and perfumes. Smell, like taste, is subjective and what one doesn't like can be very pleasant to another, which is why I encourage people to try it. It's a sampler after all. Again, most of these soaps have been mild (in the shower) and comfortable, but none have AMAZED me, so I'm giving 3 stars. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to watch football.
