I was very excited about this router considering all the good things I've heard about it. I've been trying for a month but it still didn't work the way I would like. Let me share my concerns about this product: 1) Mac users: Please note that performance can sometimes be an issue with a MacBook. It took me a while to contact tech support to find out that the specific configuration is called "WMM" which may need to be disabled from the router's admin page. However, the performance of my MacBook Air is not as good as that of a Windows 7 laptop (tested at the same distance from the router). 2) My router comes with a very old firmware version. At first I tried to test it, but even as a software engineer (used to all things technical) I had trouble figuring out which version on the website is suitable for my router. The instructions on their website aren't entirely accurate if you're looking for information about your router. I sent my router version info (firmware and hardware) to tech support and got a link to the correct version, but I wish such things could be easily detected by the router etc or more detailed instructions were posted on their website in the user manual. 3) If you live in an apartment that may face another building, there are probably many Wi-Fi networks installed in your area, so keep an eye on which channel to choose. After playing around with this setup a bit, I got some improvements. 4) About antennas. tries to find information on which position they can do better, but to no avail. I'm not sure if it matters or not. This router is definitely better than my previous one from MediaLink, but still far from what I would like. My internet speed is up to 20Mbps, so I was expecting a pretty decent experience with this router. Sometimes I just turn off the WiFi on my smartphone and use the 4G LTE connection to find something quickly. ********** ************ REDACTED ****************** Still having problems, a good and reasonable maintain speed wireless connection. I've tried tuning in to specific channels or an auto channel, but it still works below my expectations. At the moment I just checked my wired download connection on speedtest.net and it was around 32Mbps but as soon as I switched to WiFi it dropped to 8Mbps when auto connecting. On channel 1 or 11 was it worse
