If you have doors that open wide or children who are not afraid to open them, this is a great product to protect your car and others from door knocks. They are easy to trim - all you have to do is cut between the metal stiffeners in the product (if you suddenly cut the metal, just slide it down a little and make another cut). After cutting to length, they can be easily attached to the door. They suggest tapping with a hammer, but I was able to just slide it over the edge of the door with minimal effort - it took less than a minute. The edge of my door widens at the top so the product needs to open up a bit, but it still held firmly in place and didn't seem to affect the product's holding ability. I ended up adding a small strip of black tape to the top of each strip to provide a little extra moisture protection and to keep water from seeping into the strip - I'm not sure if that matters or not. I'll probably take it off and check for rust or problems after a few months of use. I'll let you know if I see any problems. It looks pretty good on my gray and black car. Because it's black, it matches most car colors without looking bad. The product (18 feet) is enough to cover all the doors of several cars (I've built a 4-door Corolla and a 2-door Civic and I have a ton left).
