I lost a lot of hair after using the previous sulfate free shampoo; It took me a while to figure out that a sulfate-free shampoo was actually the culprit and why my scalp gets greasy briefly (usually the next day) after every wash. Eventually, I realized that even though my previous shampoo was sulfate-free, the lack of cleaning power resulted in a lot of build-up on my scalp, which explained why my scalp was always itchy and greasy, with the occasional breakout. I did a little research and found that a sulfate shampoo doesn't necessarily have to be bad for your hair, it really depends on the formula and the condition of your hair (how compatible it is with the shampoo). I have coarse and curly Asian hair, many western shampoos weigh my hair down and make it look duller. I used this Tsubaki shampoo/conditioner for the first time yesterday and noticed a cleaner and happier scalp immediately after drying my hair. My hair immediately softened, so I wanted to style my hair. I wish I had a "before" photo to show you how shiny my hair got after using Tsubaki once! I'm happy to report that today (2nd day after washing) my scalp is still clean and not greasy. Also, my hair hasn't been this soft and fluffy in a long time. The smoothing effect reminds me of a salon hairstyle. I personally like the scent very much, it is flowery, fresh and feminine.
