I bought this splitter to pass my HDMI signal to my TV and receiver (audio only). I connected the output of a 5 port HDMI switch to the input port of this splitter. I connected output port #1 to the TV and port #2 to different HDMI inputs on the Denon receiver. Although the picture on the TV is excellent, I get no signal on the receiver. As I said, I've used several different inputs on the receiver, but it doesn't seem to matter, there's no sound. Some additional background information: This splitter is powered (supplied with a 5V power connector) and has a 4-position DIP switch on the front to select different refresh rates/picture quality and 2 or 7 channel audio , a total of 16 possible combinations. So far I've tried 4K @ 60Hz 2 channels and 4K @ 60Hz 7 channels. When using the 2-channel setup, the TV sound is louder and clearer than when inputting directly from a cable box. In 7-channel mode, the sound level drops significantly. I'm still playing with the switch position, maybe there's hope? I see a mode called "copy once" on the schematic where only the EDID of the output of port #1 is read. Maybe that's my problem. To be honest I didn't know this splitter was that complicated. I just needed a simple splitter that would allow me to pass the HDMI signal to my receiver for audio purposes. This splitter may or may not be present.
