keep looking; Do Something Else

Don't do this, just grab something sticking to the bottom. Here's why: The point is that you attach two grommets to the ceiling and one to the garage door. The idea is that when you open the door, the ball will come down from the ceiling. Then park and if you close the door the ball will go up again. Amazing right? no See, the problem is that the three holes form a triangle, so you end up with a rope going through three points, forming a sinusoidal pattern. So when you open the door, the ball falls under your parked car and then rises back up. The same with parking - the ball hangs on the plane where the fixation touches the window. Then you get out, close the door and it falls under the windows, crashing into your car before climbing back up. Not perfect. But one day I got out of the car and closed the garage door as I got out of the car. The ball dipped below window level and got stuck in my convertible top. I didn't stop the garage in time and this thing ripped my top! Even if I didn't have a convertible, it could very easily damage your car's weatherstrip and the ball would fall off when opening and awkwardly crash into your car. I think this is a misguided solution, just hang it up so it doesn't move up and down, or better yet, install one of those floor supports I've had for years with no problems.
