I didn't want to spend too much on my first backpack for a long weekend camping with friends because I didn't know if I was going to use it or go hiking that often. I also need something that packs a little. Turns out I became addicted to hiking on this trip and now use it regularly. That's great! I really get everything I need there. The zip pocket is small, but even if I have something bigger, I can easily pull it outside. I don't even have to pull it up the front very often for some reason. Very convenient and easy to use. I had to learn how to pull up to get the mouthpiece working. At first I was afraid that I received a defective package. I suggest testing before your first hike so you have time to study if you can't figure it out. it is completely dry to prevent mold growth. You can remove the chamber and all tubing components, but I may have spent a week drying them out. No problem!
