Helps to have patience.

A few things I did that I found made it easier to assemble; I organized the pieces, and used a hand screwdriver, a cordless would have been too much power. Started by putting the first two sets of leg extensions together leaving the finial loose but attached. I also did this on a warm sunny day and I believe letting the rubber sleeves warm up they went on more easily. When attaching the three circular pieces I started from the bottom up and did not tighten the screws in all the way as I had to reposition pieces several times. When all together I exchanged an eye screw of the same size as the screw that holds the finial on so that I could hang a wren house from it. a humming bird feeder was another thought but as this is a tall thing filling the feeder would require a ladder every time. I pounded a 4ft piece of re-bar into a couple of feet in the ground and slid a leg over that as my garden is already thick with perennials.
