This is just a joystick that connects to the digital part that connects to the motherboard. It was slightly smaller than the original 3ds joystick but works just as well. Note that you will need a VERY small, thin Phillips screwdriver (like those used to repair smartphone screens) for installation. You might want to watch a video on how to install this part, but it's not that hard! It's just that Nintendo is making it hard to replace. A: To install, you need to unscrew and remove the back panel, then remove the next panel to access the motherboard and reattach the joystick on the back, not where you can see the physical joystick on the front. Again, it's not hard to install, it's just harder than just plugging it in from the front or something. :) Great product overall!
