It's very bright and I love that I can adjust so many things. On a higher setting, when plugged in, the night light is bright enough to fully illuminate my foyer and provide enough light for both my living room and hallway (around the corner) to move around safely. At the minimum setting there is enough light to move around the foyer. I was concerned about the efficiency of the charger as the flashlight only sits loosely in it (nothing grabs or clicks to lock it in place), but the simplicity is actually pretty convenient and the flashlight hasn't fallen out of the cradle yet. . You can rotate the flashlight in the charging base to aim where is best and it will still charge. You can set it to always stay on as a night light, be activated by motion (which is very sensitive and will detect me in advance as I walk across the room), or just turn off while charging. Using it as a flashlight is just as bright, with brightness settings and just as easy to manage. The instructions provided are very simple and easy to follow, so you won't miss a single feature. It's definitely a good buy and well worth the extra money.
