This pen was a bit of a hit and miss to replace my Surface Pen. I got it today and use it for typical OneNote writing, light photo editing and freehand drawing. For now I can say that it works identically to the Surface Pen. I had a high resolution version with tilt shading. I can say that the responsiveness seems identical. I didn't notice any lag, meaning I didn't notice the stylus leading the on-screen movement. The lines feel sharp, just like the Surface Pen. Actually, I don't see any difference. The stylus may be a bit thinner than the Surface Pen. It looks more like a regular pencil or a slim stylus. I think the Surface Pen could be thicker as the battery needs to be replaced. This pen uses a rechargeable battery, so there is no need to open the pen to change the battery. I didn't know it was rechargeable when I ordered it. One thing that is very nice about the rechargeable feature. It can be plugged directly into a surface for charging. When I'm on the go, I don't have to think about a spare battery. Or a special connector. I can just plug it into Surface or any USB-A charger (standard plug) to get it working again. Fits comfortably in your hand. Responds well to use. Has a rechargeable battery. Looks good. And yes, it has a magnetic connector to keep it on the side of the surface. It seems to work the same as the Surface Pen.
