It is slightly warped at the very top where the two halves meet to form a knife slot. With a little work with thermoplastics, warping is usually caused by one of two things: not enough material for the design at hand (a cost-cutting move) or not enough dwell time in the injection molding press to provide adequate cooling. It's about maintaining production levels, which is another term for "cost cutting". It didn't make inserting the knife DIFFICULT, just harder than it should be. It's still usable, absolutely, and I will continue to use it, absolutely. If they make the appropriate manufacturing changes this would be a great little guide to slicing, especially given the reasonable price point. Now it's just fine. Given that most cutting guides are fixed and not adjustable, it's quite difficult to go without because of the cost. I think it's worth buying.
