Review on πŸ’‘ Nite Ize LED Mini Glowstick: Compact & Bright Reusable LED Glowsticks for Powerful Illumination by James Yarbrough

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Batteries exploded after 1.5 months of use.

UPDATE: 10/23/20 I'm changing my original rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. I've had them for a little over 1.5 months, I have a total of 9 such glow sticks. Each glowstick uses 4 small LR41 batteries. Of 36 batteries, 6 have exploded in the last 4 days. (When they explode they either make the sound of a gun or a squib.) When the first one exploded I replaced all the batteries, wrapped the old ones in tape so they didn't touch each other and I had 5 more (to my knowledge) explode . Now I'm afraid they'll start a fire. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a pretty solid product. I can't say how long the product will last in the long term, but it seems to be a pretty good product in the short term. I'm a wedding photographer and I use glow sticks to mark the legs of my light stands during weddings so people can see them without tripping over them. At every wedding I had to mark 3 feet per stand. I typically use 3 to 5 coasters at a wedding which means I have to use 9 and 15 glowing chemical glow sticks and recycle which seems wasteful. This is the first LED lightstick that was bright enough to rival a chemical lightstick and lasted long enough to give me a significant savings. Each of these LED glow sticks maintained the same brightness for at least 50 hours of my own testing. At most weddings, glow sticks last about 6 hours; This would mean that each LED glow stick would work for at least 8 weddings, which after the cost of batteries and LED glow sticks saves me $8.40 for one wedding or $60 for 8 weddings. So while they last halfway through the wedding season for me, they have more than paid for themselves. I am writing this review on Thursday, I used the glowsticks on Sunday, the glowsticks have been in use for 102 hours straight and they are still glowing; Although very faint, it still glows. In the photo you can see the chemical glow stick on the left and the LED on the right. I definitely recommend this product
