The mouse was 'up and running' on my Samsung Chromebook (the instructions I received with the mouse didn't list Chrome OS as an 'approved' operating system ). Others point out that the back button is too far back to easily press with your thumb. in the middle of the project. Can't comment on battery life - I haven't had a mouse long enough to burn out all the batteries (but I'm using the ones that came with the mouse just to see how they perform). This is an inexpensive all-purpose mouse, but don't plan on simply using the forward and back buttons on the side.HTHRC Best regards, Jim
