You get what you pay for.
I bought this product hoping it would be as great as the Fisher Price for my first son. But I am very disappointed! My son HATES these bassinets and honestly I don't blame him. It is very deep, making it very difficult to bend over to retrieve or put the baby in after a cesarean. The pad is incredibly thin and potentially dangerous due to gaps forming over time. Of course it's easy to build. Is it easy to fold? Yes. But this is not a quality product. I guess I should have known better than to buy a product from a company that had a massive safety recall.
