In general, I would not write a review about the vacuum bag. However, since 3M G/N filter bags (and similar replacement bags for other Miele models) are currently sold on Revain.com for $6.90 for five 3M bags, compared to four Miele bags for $18.90 in the USA, I thought that this needed further review to help others with their decision. There are also 2 Miele-like motor filters in the 3M bag box. On closer inspection, the 3M bags, like the filters, are significantly thinner than those from Miele. In addition, each Miele bag features a "spring-loaded self-closing collar" that automatically closes when the bag is removed from the suction port, sealing the bag and preventing dust release when changing bags; while this system is absent from 3M. Miele advertises its superior vacuum bags for "9-layer electrostatically charged material that traps microorganisms in a sealed vacuum chamber". On the other hand, 3M claims that their filter technology is superior to paper dust bags. Without a doubt, Miele bags are a higher class and offer a better chamber for catching dust and fine particles compared to 3M filter bags. But is it worth the huge difference in price? It depends on the user. If a person is allergic to dust and pollen and a controlled home environment is essential, then Miele's superior bag filter and collection system could be worth the difference in cost. For casual users like me, however, the superior filtering that a superior bag offers might not be very noticeable - at least not to me. 3M vacuum bags are well made and a decent replacement for Miele vacuum cleaners, but may not offer adequate filtration performance. and dedusting, like Miele. It's worth trying the cheaper 3M bags to see if there's a noticeable difference. You can always go back to the more expensive ones.
