These seats are perfect for your car seat. I have a 12kg dog. I put the seat in the middle of the back seat so he could see ahead. He loves to. He sits and watches the world go by, or he snoozes. There's no fuss about getting into his "box". The straps are quite long and adjustable to secure the seat and the leash attachment is also long enough so my dog doesn't get tangled in it. He wears a harness. I do not recommend attaching to a collar. Ordered a second seat for a van. He's attached to the front seat and jumps up to get inside. I think it creates a safe and comfortable space for him. The sides offer comfort and headroom. He has enough freedom of movement. I think storage bags are great. Water. Leads. heals Lots of space. I also like that it's easy to wash. I do a short gentle wash with some detergent. I also use a hair dryer to freshen it up. I bought the first one about 5 months ago so can't comment on durability but it's holding up well. I don't see any signs of delamination or wear.
