Renogy Rules, Others Drool

I bought a 50 watt Revain Return panel for a mere fifty dollars. Bought to charge the FunWatt Portable Power Station while hiking in the US Northwest. Works great and even on a partly cloudy day in the Seattle area I was getting 40-42 watts from that thing up there in the highlands. Fully shod it still gave me 12-15 watts, which was still enough to charge the power plant. So I was very happy. I see a lot of bad reviews for the 30W device, but I can't confirm everything. I know my 50w panel was very good, came with MC4 connectors and worked great. After that purchase I added a 15 foot power strip, splitter and 30 amp controller. Now I can charge a large deep cycle battery and a power plant at the same time in the field. Woo hu. The construction of these Renogy units feels very solid and you'll be better off with mono every day than poly which just isn't as efficient. Don't try to save a few bucks by switching to polycrystals. Make Renogy Mono instead. Until you feel the free power of solar energy, you won't understand what's missing. I don't plan on going solar on my entire house any time soon, but if you want to provide enough electricity for an outhouse to run a computer, a fan, and a few lights, solar is the way to go. You'll add a little bit here and there to your family without increasing your electric bill.
