I own several different types of Surefire lights and they each have their own features for particular needs and usages - mainly for outputting immense amounts of bright white light. This little Aviator on the other hand is perfect for allowing me to move about in a dark house (low level red light) without disturbing my sleeping family. Sometimes less is more.Still, the pint sized little tool will give you a good amount of white light as well if you need it. Yes - it is expensive. But try using a "FREE with purchase" (give away) pocket flashlight for awhile and see how long it takes before you want to start pulling your hair out trying to keep it working. Just saying.
