I tried 2 different PCIE 4.0 adapter cables. Both experienced occasional crashes and countless stutters in games in the first few minutes. I chose Funtin's PCIE 3.0 which looks great and works great in PCIE 3.0. The problem is that you had to set it in BIOS first (on my X570 Dark Hero) before it would display the image since their PCIE slots are running at 4.0. You can imagine how this could be a problem for an open loop system. Well, this one just works! It works with PCIE Auto, Gen 3 and Gen 4. Just saying, just plug it in and it works great. I've been using it for about 6 hours with no stuttering and smooth gameplay on OutRiders and Marvel's Avengers. I've also checked in Nvidia Control Panel and GPU Z that I'm running PCIE 4.0 with my 3090. No BIOS setup required (unless you set it to Gen 3) "Auto" turns on Gen 4 automatically! I highly recommend that all Ryzen users (who want to display their GPU vertically) choose it.
