It is great! Just preprocess.
I like these. Perfect for what I need them for. However. If you paint anything on them you MUST pretreat them with some kind of sealer or they will bleed profusely. First I tried it with clear coat/sealant. Didn't help, still bleeding. The most successful product for sealing these (tiny) grooves is Mod Podge. Apply it in the direction of the wood fibers. It fills in those little grooves perfectly. =
