My application was to provide water to a residential building through a 300 foot hose with a rise of about 30 feet. what you need to know Called Shurflo Technical Support 3 times for details of what is needed. The pump had to have a pressure switch so it would pump when the RV's faucet was turned on. A check valve was also required to stop any potential backflow. This model has these characteristics. Speaking to tech support, I learned that the back flow to the pump should not exceed 20 PSI. So I installed the pump 2/3 of the way up the slope to the RV. It worked. Remember, the instructions say the heat output can be 250F 120C, so watch out for enclosed spaces and plastic around. I spoke to Shurflo tech support and Peter told me what part adapter I need for this standard 3/4 inch hose. HE DID HIMSELF WRONG, and that detail was useless. There were duplicates of this part in the box. They have not been used. The following ACE device part numbers will help you connect and disconnect a standard hose. Item No. 70544 3/4" male hose thread and 1/2" female pipe thread. part no. 71939 3/4" internal hose thread and 3/4" internal pipe thread Single spigot part no. 4501482 3/4" x 1/2" sleeve with hex head Teflon tape with pipe threads is recommended for some parts. I believe it was around $12 and the total price has changed. 16 gauge for me. The pump has been running intermittently for 2 days and still no problems.
