I put it on for the second time, the braid began to wear out at the point of tension in the buckle. I had braided leather belts for years before they were worn like this, but was surprised by belts that looked like leather but weren't and didn't last long. I was specifically looking for a "leather" belt. The first line of Revane's description reads "100% leather". It looked like the color I needed so I bought it. It looked/felt like leather so I packed it for a week's vacation. When it showed signs of wear after wearing it a second time, I took a closer look. Inside the tongue (where the buckle is attached) is printed "LEATHERZunge" and "GUIDE LACE" in small print. That's about 3 inches of leather on 39 inches of plastic trash.
