This bike seat is made from super thin plastic and any pressure or a child falling off the bike will leave a visible mark. BUT mine BIGGEST PROBLEM is that it does not fit 18" Truly Me American Girl dolls - 18" dolls are half sitting and half falling off the seat. This is an accurate statement and is the reason we bought. I know, it's just a doll but I'm not too many parents who like to watch a doll fall and hit concrete let alone see a $100 doll fall IMO child tears, corolla or 12" baby dolls are very small and slip under the harness, 14" dolls like Wellie Wisher or Glitter Girl dolls fit a little better and at least fit a lot of room. We found that the AG Bitty Baby or any 15" doll seemed to fit best when the doll's feet are touching the lower footrest and the waist belt is tight. I'm sure it will work and it looks like it should. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but she had already put stickers on, so Mickey's dad attached them with zip ties. Phew, optically it's not perfect, but our little one doesn't see the difference and likes to take the Scarlet on bike rides.
