Let me start by saying that this is not a Dyson bladeless fan at all. I have lung problems and this fan helps me sleep. I put it on my bedside table and it works great as I'm only 2ft from it. This is my second. My last one lasted about 6 months. It's every night for 6 months so not too bad for 6 months straight. A few things I've learned that I'd like to share to help you get the most out of this fan. Firstly, never use tap water! The tap water clogs the Mister and he will be the first to fail. Always use distilled water when using and you will have no problem with the humidifier. Second, never remove the tank. Go to the dollar store and buy ketchup and mustard containers (2 per dollar), fill them with distilled water and squirt water through the mist's hole to fill it. If you do this, you will get the most out of your $25 fan. If your bedroom is dry at night, you have a sore throat and you wake up constipated, this fan is for you if you have a bedside table. This fan won't overwhelm you like a regular humidifier, instead giving you the perfect amount to help you sleep at night. I see 5 different models at much higher prices. They are all made by the same manufacturer. Hope that helps.
