I broke my arm and couldn't carry the bag over my shoulder. It was the right size and held enough things. waterproof material and didn't look too much like a satchel. It had a strong sweet smell when it arrived and I had to keep it outside on the porch for a while before it wore off. Plenty of pockets, functional and not too bulky.
