Review on πŸͺ’ Parker 92R Ultra Heavyweight Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor with 5 High-Quality Blades by Maria Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy with the new DE razor here

I'm actually new to the DE shaving trend. After years of using expensive cartridges, trying to extend the life of each one and getting a bad shave after a few weeks, I decided to switch to a good old wet and dry electric razor. It took a lot of time, not to mention the tedious work of running the damn thing up and down and around and then back through each spot to make sure I got all the hair. And in the end I got fed up with it, afraid of routine work and not entirely satisfied with the results. So when it came time to decide whether I wanted to spend another $30 on replacement blades, I started thinking about an alternative and discovered the popularity of the old-school safety razor. After a little research I decided it was worth a try. First, it's a small investment. However, consider these words carefully. This is an investment. And over time, after the initial cost of materials, maintenance actually costs almost nothing. I will not break down the cost of replacement blades, cartridges, and replacement heads for an electric razor. You can find these numbers almost anywhere. You can also find a MUCH more expensive pen than the Parker 92R. I can't comment on the quality of these compared to this one. But I can say that I am very satisfied with this product. It's quite powerful, so it takes very little work to actually shave. Even less work for someone like me who has a goatee and a part beard. It's definitely worth the €30 I spent on it. However, do yourself a favor and buy better blades. The included shark blades were terrible. It was like holding a sharpened butter knife in my face and pulling rather than cutting my hair. I bought several Wilkinson blades at a bargain price and they did their job perfectly. It takes some time to get used to the DE razor. So if you're new to this like me, do yourself a favor and save yourself the embarrassment of watching youtube videos on how to use a safety razor properly. Trust me you won't be the only one. And give yourself some time to really master the technique. This pen is really very comfortable and never feels like it will slip out of my fingers. It's also heavy enough for me to get most of the work done. Like I said, it takes time to really master my technique. But I'm sure once I get the hang of it, this technique will become second nature and shaving will be a breeze. This is a very strong handle and the butterfly hole makes it extremely easy to install the blades. I am very happy with this pen. I have to believe that the more expensive ones can't make that much of a difference. Do yourself a favor and if you're even considering getting into DE shaving, make it your first purchase. It costs $30. Just remember to get better blades.
