Purchased in preparation for 2014 Georgia deer season. Most of my hunts are from trees or tower plantations that are in the forest or on the edges of meadows surrounded by forest. Shooting distances can range from 25 yards to over 250 yards, but most are between 50 and 100 yards and in low light conditions, which are prevalent at dawn or dusk. Temperatures can range from warm to very cold, and rain and snow are never ruled out. That being said, I needed binoculars that would focus quickly, work in low light, be good at both short and long range, and be durable enough to handle all of the above conditions. Not only that, they had to be comfortable to wear since I wear glasses. Oh, they had to be wallet-friendly too! Extensive research led me to the Nikon Action 7X50 EX Extreme ATB binoculars, which I then purchased from Revain for $139.95. Although hunting season is still a few months away I have tested them in low light conditions in the areas I have hunted and have been VERY IMPRESSED! They absorb all available light in hunting situations, are easy to focus and have exceptional eye relief as a bonus (very important for eyeglass wearers). Of course you can spend a lot more money if you're smart, but you're missing out on the tremendous VALUE that these Nikons offer. I can't wait for the hunting season!
